Engagement Portrait

Oh, forgot to post our engagement portrait. They turned out great!

Been gone a while

So I haven't updated in a while. We've been insanely busy with work, renovations on our new condo, moving in, visiting my dad who's been really sick, and more work. We had a very productive morning though. Just bought our rings!! We also had a honeymoon consultation appointment and think we nailed down where we are going to go. Keep your fingers crossed for us that there's still availability. We're also in the final stages of working on invitations, so you should be getting them in about a week.

Making headway

So I took two of my bridesmaids to a cake tasting at Heidelberg Bakery last weekend. I have to say the cake wasn't as divine as the cakes at Alexandria Pastry, but they were still better than the average wedding cake. I requested three additional cake flavors, this time with fruit fillings - (I think it was the fruit fillings I liked so well at Alexandria Pastry). We'll get them on Saturday, so hopefully we will have the cake picked out by then.

After the cake tasting, I did a makeup trial at Elizabeth Arden. I chose to do it Saturday because I was headed to a formal dinner. That way, I could see how it wore throughout the night. The makeup looked good, but I think it was a little too dramatic in natural lighting. I really like the way she did my eyes. It was perfect for the WHNPA dinner because it was dimly lit. Wedding countdown

So we finally got the wedding blog set up. One more thing to check off the list. So we now have:

• flower girl dresses

Sounds like things are coming together, right? Well, wedding plans have been put on hold because our apartment is being converted into condos and we have to move out. We've been crazy busy searching for a condo, getting approved for a home loan, and getting all the paperwork and materials together for the actual sale. We close on April 26th, but more on that in another blog. We'll be chronicling our purchase and the renovations separately.

Last weekend John and I went to a cake tasting at Alexandria Pastry Shop. We had heard they were good, and oh were they right! I have another cake appointment at Heidelberg Bakery on the 28th. Looking forward to getting the samples for our invitations also.
